TIDBITS OF TRUST
In the post, Taking Nibbles, Not Mouthfuls, I described how to study the Bible in small bites versus large chunks to obtain a deeper knowledge of the scriptures. In this post, I will provide more suggestions.
If you are not sure where to begin your journey on studying the Holy Bible, I suggest to start with the book of Proverbs. Proverbs is a book that contains a collection of moral sayings, teachings and instructions, written by Solomon, attributed to be the wisest man ever. The book of Proverbs is filled with wisdom and knowledge, guidance on daily functions, activities and issues. It can assist with everyday life. Proceed with processing pieces of Proverbs.
Another recommendation, look in the concordance of your Bible and find a word that you want a deeper comprehension, especially if these are areas you need to change., i.e., anger, fear, integrity, love, wisdom, knowledge, understanding… The list is endless. After the word is found, look up all the strictures that pertain to that word and watch your learning increase.
Below are scripture out of the book of Proverbs concerning trust. Using the nibble not mouthful technique, let us take tidbits of trust.
The 2 scriptures are broken down for clarification and edification. Read: Proverbs 3:5-6 New King James Version (NKJV).
Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and a lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
Definition: Trust is an assured reliance on the character, ability, strength or truth of someone. In this case, we should have a guaranteed confidence or certainty in the Lord.
Breakdown 1: Trust in the LORD with all your heart… We should have a guaranteed confidence or certainty in the Lord with all of our minds (thinking) and hearts (inner character).
Breakdown 2: lean not on your own understanding… We should not rely on our own knowledge and discernment, because we are too often swayed in different directions by other opinions, thoughts and philosophies.
Breakdown 3: all your ways acknowledge Him… Acknowledge is defined as to regard, describe, tell, disclose or recognize. We are to regard or recognize God in all aspects and in all areas of our lives.
Breakdown 4: He shall direct your paths… Lastly, after we trust God, do not depend on our own thoughts and have included Him in all areas of our lives, then He will guide, move and point us in the correct course, route, and direct us to a prosperous life.

Thus says the LORD: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, nor let the rich man glory in his riches.
Breakdown 1: Thus says the Lord… God is saying and telling us something.
Breakdown 2: Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom…Do not let the educated, crafty or knowledgeable man boast, praise or honor himself in his knowledge and understanding.
Breakdown 3: Let not the mighty man glory in his might… Do not let the powerful, strong or extraordinary man boast, praise or honor himself in his power.
Breakdown 4: Nor let the rich man glory in his riches… Do not let the wealthy, affluent, rich man boast, praise or honor himself in his money or possessions.
Taking the tidbits of trust, I hope you understand the importance of not trusting yourself, power or money, but in God. God will do His part, if you will do your part.
