NAME

I am nothing without my name. A name is an identifier. It is a word or phrase that refers to a particular person, place or thing.

In the Bible days, a name represented who you were; what you were; what you will become, at times, where you were from.  Abraham means a father of many; Leah means weary; Jacob means supplanter. If you read about these people, their names described them well.

During other times, last names derived from occupations: Blacksmith, Carpenter, Baker, Cook or Farmer.

Today, names are derived from many sources, such as cars: Alexis and Porsche; athletes:  Michael and Jordan; days of the months: April, May and June.

The names of the rich and famous are heavily weighed. Future generation can lean on the family name for credibility, providing opportunities that may not have been available without the name.

While other names carry shame. Generations to come with family names of murderers, rapists, serial killers, tyrant leaders, and sex offenders may have doors slammed because of the name association.

Regardless if your name is distinguished or disgraced, it can be subject to change. Good names can become bad and the other way around. Putting stock in on a family name to build it up or to increase the power of the name is important. Bear in mind, that names can be effected by society, government, media or any other worldly trend. Scandals, criminal acts and immoral affairs can bring down strong names.

Some people are name-droppers. Speaking certain titles offers clout and recognition, If you have coasted, prospered or leaned on a family’s signature, or a title produced by marriage, adoption or any other avenue, if it is taken away, does the phrase come to mind or is spoken, I am nothing without my name. You are in an identity crisis.

One name that can endure time, tribulations and trends. A name than can stand strong, no matter what happened in the past; what is occurring in the present; or what can develop in the future. A name to hang all hopes, dreams and aspirations.

That is the Righteousness of God.

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Corinthians 5:21King James Version (KJV)

When you declare yourself as the righteousness of God. You are accepting God as your Almighty Father. Like any parent, you are protected and preserved. You will propel and prosper under His love. And you will be granted all gifts He has to offer.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith. Galatians 5:22King James Version (KJV)

Heritage is the property that descents to an heir. Because we are God’s children everything that is His is ours. He gives His protection.

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord. Isaiah 54:17King James Version (KJV)

Peace, calmness and confidence is produced by His Name.

And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever. Isaiah 32:17King James Version (KJV)

His Name offers peace for your children.

And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

Never say or think, I am nothing without my name, and remember you are everything with God’s name, because you are the Righteousness of God.
