W.A.R

War, what is it good for, absolutely nothing… This was a line taken from song warWar by Edwin Starr, in 1970.  The song was a protest song against the war in Vietnam.

People have strong opinions on war. Good or bad. Warranted or unfounded. Who to fight, who not to fight, when, where, how and how long, the list goes on.

Basically war is a struggle or competition between opposing forces or for a particular end.

The W.A.R that I can honestly state that it unfounded and has no bearing on success is the battle of emotions and feelings, specifically the battle of Worry, Anxiety and Resistance.

The battle of W.A.R is a direct contradiction against God and what He teaches us. When you are seeking God and performing His Word and believing His promise W.A.R should be at a minimal. I am not going to say you will never have these emotions or feelings, but they should never linger for long periods of time, if you truly trust God.

Let’s examine the basic definition of war. War is conflicting forces. The world, family, and friends may be pulling you one way and the Word of God may be guiding you in a different direction.

Remember, we have an adversary, the devil that is always attempting to pull us away from God. He does not want us to rely and trust in God. He wants you to believe in the world, do things on your own, and constantly ask someone for your next step. It is amazing how some people will tell you to do things they will never do or don’t have a clue what is going on in their life.

What is worry? Worry is to afflict with mental distress. To constantly think about problems or fears that you have no control over. To have fear that something bad will happen or could happen.

What is the conflicting force of worry? Faith. Faith is a strong belief or trust in someone, in this case to have a strong faith in God. Another definition is a firm belief in something for which there is no proof. Faith is the strong belief no matter what happens God has a plan. It may not always turn out the way you think, but it will turn out in your best interest.

Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22 (KJV)

Anxiety is an abnormal and overwhelming sense of fear and doubt concerning the reality of a threat. Sometimes anxiety is marked with sweating, tension, and increased pulse. Many people have thrown themselves in panic attacks over fears of the unknowns or what could happen.

What is the conflicting force of anxiety? Calmness is a stare of tranquility or quietness. For the righteous there is peace. And working righteousness there is quietness and confidence, not in yourselves, but God.

And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance forever. Isaiah 32:17 (KJV)

Resistance is to refuse to accept something new or different. So many people are set in their ways; in their parents’ ways; or in their friends’ ways. They don’t even entertain the concept in changing. Resistance to change or to adopt a different type of belief will hinder you.

What is the conflict force in resistance? Acceptance. Accept God, His Words and His ways and your life will metamorphosed.

Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Psalm 37:4 (KJV).

What is the opposing force of war? Peace. How do you obtain peace?

Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. Psalm 34:14 (KJV)

The battle of W.A.R is a direct contradiction against God and what He teaches us. Worry, anxiety, and resistance are tools used by the devil. Seek God and receive faith, peace and resistance.
