TO RECEIVE OR NOT TO RECEIVE

thumbs-up-and-downThere is a new President Elect. Some are rejoicing in the outcome, while others are mourning for the candidate who did not win. All types of acquisitions are running rampant on all of the candidates. The social media has become a political forum to vent views and opinions. I read one remark that was very true and enlightening. If you are against the new President Elect, guess what, in January, he will still be the next President of the United Sates. And if you are rallying, complaining, and voicing unjust causes to the candidate that did not win, at the end of the day they will not be the President.  Don’t misunderstand my candor for those who are for or against any candidate, or that I am ignoring that everyone has the right to speak their mind. But at the end of the day, it is what it is.

I do not take lightly anything that will affect my life, the lives of my friends, families and loved ones, directly or indirectly. I just have a different method to deal with the unknown.

I am going to pose these question to you. Have you wanted, desired or strived for something and you didn’t get it? In the beginning, you were hurt, disappointed, maybe sad or angry? But, as time passed you discovered the thing you most wanted was not really the right thing for you? You thought maybe you dodged a bullet?

Now let’s flip the script. Same question with a twist. Have you wanted, desired or strived for something and you did get it? In the beginning, you were excited and hopeful. But, as time passed you discovered, the thing you received was not good. And now there are regrets, trials and troubles?

If you asking how the above questions has anything to do with the candidates that won or lost. It is all about who are you trusting? The government? Man? Yourself? The world? Friends? Families?

After the election, another statement, caught my attention. It ricocheted through Twitter, Facebook and texts:  “In God we trust” not “in man we trust”. That sounds good in writing, but no one took the time to instruct how to trust in God. And what to do.

Listed below are 12 intervention, which should be taken in life. Not just for an election, job or a relationship, but in all matters.

What do you do when you hear rumors, or any negative remakes that are proven or not proven? Do you freak out? Compliant? Or, do you automatically go into solution mode, formulating Plan A, B and C with a contingency plan? Or did you ask other people about the rumors, allowing them to fill your head with negativity? But, God tells us to don’t be afraid of bad news. Trust in Him.

He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. Psalm 112:7 (KJV).

When bad things occur, who is the first person you turn to for solace? Spouse? Friend? Family? These may be great selections if you know they can shelter or protect you. Oftentimes we run to people who cannot help or support. You unload all of your worries and cares and they may tell you the things they would do or suggest things they would not do. Or, convey answers that make you feel worse. My suggestion? Go to the One that can truly provide solutions. God is our protection in all things.

Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah. Psalm 62:8 (KJV)

Back in the Bible days, the King of Babylon carried great power and authority. Many of these kings were wicked, executing afflictions on people. Today, the President of the United States is probably the most powerful man in the world. So whomever is President now and in the future, whether they are evil or good; for the poor or against; for the rich or against; if they have their own agendas or not; we should not be afraid. Why? Because God tells us not to fear, because He will save and deliver us. He is our Almighty President.

Be not afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom ye are afraid; be not afraid of him, saith the Lord: for I am with you to save you, and to deliver you from his hand. Jeremiah 42: (KJV)

When you meet a person and you want to get to know them better. You acquaint yourself with them. You seek to know them more on a personal basis. This can be through phone conversations, outings, text messages, emails or any modes of communication that causes you to know them on a deeper level. Did you realize that the more you get to know God on a deeper level, peace replaces anxieties and fears? How do you acquaint yourself with God? Through prayers; reading His Word; and establishing a relationship with Him. God wants to be included in all of your decision making and in all areas of your life.

Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee. Job 22:21(KJV)

Have you fallen and someone helped you up. Or, have you felt faint and someone immediately runs and helps you. In both cases you have leaned on that person and have partaken of their strength. Learn to lean on God. Rely on a Spiritual Being that can actually offer you strength.

Or let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me; and he shall make peace with me. Isaiah 27:5 (KJV)

Remember, we have no strength in ourselves, but in God. God can renew our strength to the point of trudging through afflictions and soaring to victories.

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31King James Version (KJV)

Integrity is the quality of being fair and honest. This trait many do not stick with or do not have. Or, are quickly ready to give it up when trials come theirway.  Don’t remove your integrity.

God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me. Job 27:5King James Version (KJV)

When you present a reverential fear of God and His ways. You will want to do His Will and you will receive a greater understating in life decisions.

And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. Job 28:28King James Version (KJV)

How do you how your thoughts can be established to right thing at the right time and for the right reason. Talk to God about them. Do the things He encourages you to do when He tells you. If you do, you will not go wrong.

Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established. Proverbs 16:3King James Version (KJV)

Lastly, when you confer with God on your decisions, goals or dreams, He will guide you in taking the correct steps to achieve your aspirations.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:6King James Version (KJV)

Now, when you see or read “In God we trust” not “in man we trust”, you will know the interventions in trusting God and not man.
