APRIL FOOL’S DAY

April 1st is observed throughout the western world, as April Fool’s day. It is a dayApril Fool (revised) when pranksters play tricks on people. They may:

  • Send someone on a fool’s errand
  • Have people look for things that don’t exist
  • Try to get people to believe ridiculous things

Personally, I do partake in this day’s activity, but I will use this day as an opportunity to introduce one of the oldest pranksters that exist, the devil.

Don’t be fooled by the devil. The greatest lie ever told is when the devil convinced the world he did not exist. Today, some people do not believe there is a devil and he dwells on the planet earth. He does exist.

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Revelation 12:9 (KJV)

The devil is a liar.

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. John 8:44 (KJV)

The devil does not wait for one day a year to fool you. He attempts daily and multiple times a day to beguile you.

  • He attempts to send you on a fool’s errand. A fool’s errand is a task or activity that has no hope of success. He wants you to trust in man and self and not God. He wants you to be selfish and not think about others. He wants you to look about at the negative circumstances and not look up to God.
  • He wants you to look for things that don’t exist. Looking for love in one night stands. Looking for happiness in money. Looking for peace through drugs and alcohol.
  • He tries to fool you into believing ridiculous things. He wants you to believe God does not love you. God is mad at you. God will not forgive you. God does not hear your prayers.

The devil’s motto is to play tricks, spread untruths, increase doubt, destroy faith and provoke fear. He begins his works through our minds. Whispering negative thoughts against you, God and the Word. Be wise. If you don’t know the Word you will be beguiled.

Think of it this way. If you partake in Aprils Fool’s Day. What do you do?

  • You prepare yourself
  • You are more alert
  • Question all things

Do the same for the oldest, most cunning prankster.

  • Prepare yourself: by reading, and studying the Word of God.
  • Be alert to the wiles of the devil. Wiles are tricks and strategies.
  • Question all things. If it does not align with God and His Word. It’s a lie.

If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:31-32 (KJV)

The devil is a liar and a prankster. Don’t be hoodwinked.
