THE THIRD MONTH

March, the month of spring, is the time of sowing all types of seeds. Grass seeds SOWING SEEDSare sprinkled for lush lawns. Flowers are planted for colorful bouquets. And, all other types of seeds are cultivated to bring forth a harvest.

The interesting concept, whatever seeds are sown that particular fruit will bloom. In other words, if you plant Marigold seeds don’t expect Pansies to bloom. What you sow is what you reap.

Let’s dig deeper. What are seeds? Seeds are a source of development or growth. They are little containers waiting to be planted and take root.

Your words are seeds. Your words are sources of development and growth. Your words are planted in your mind and heart. Your words are small containers waiting to take bloom. Expressing positive words will bring forth a positive harvest. The same concept applies with speaking negative words, the end results will be negative.

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. Matthew 12:37 (KJV)

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21 (KJV)

I will never get a job. I am fat. No one loves me. I am alone. These seeds will produce an unemployed, obese, unloving, lonely person. Negative words are expressed from your lips, changing your behaviors and outcomes. Unfavorable words give place for the devil. He loves to play on negativity. He will continue to whisper those unproductive thoughts in your mind, waiting for them to take root in your heart.

The best way to change your behaviors and outcome is to change how you think and what you say. Speak positive words. A new job is coming my way. With God’s grace I will lose weight. God loves me.  I am never alone with God. And, in God’s time, you will receive a job, a weight reduction, a loved one and your future days will never be alone.

You may think what you say has little to do with the conclusions. And, words are just words. This is not true. Do you know people who are negative, always having some adverse words to say and their lives reflect their words? Now think about the people who speak upbeat, uplifting and positive words and their lives follow the sequence.

Stop planting weeds expecting flowers to grow.

10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?

12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? So can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. James 3:10-12 (KJV)

When negative words form in your mouth, swallow them. Allow something positive to flow out. If you continue this habit, after a while, positive words will trump the negative ones. Feed your seeds with God’s seeds. Nourish them with the waters of faith. Use the fertilizer of prayer and plant the good seeds in your spiritual pot—your heart. Reap a positive harvest.
