COOKING CLASS

Recipe 1Cooking classes are on the rise with trendy styles and venues. These learning techniques are taught to beginners to obtain the basics culinary methods; to intermediate cooks to create gourmet delectations or for students who have a desire to make this art as a profession. These classes can be taken online, at home, at restaurants or in culinary schools. Growing up, there were not many structured cooking classes. Most of my cooking skills came through relatives. The sessions took place in a family member’s extremely hot kitchen and the method was to observe their ways. The expert cooks, of yesterday, did not depend on cookbooks, recipes and measuring utensils, but relied on memory, traditions and taste. They combined ingredients in certain bowls, used particular cookware and produced exorbitant dishes with flavorful results.

There is a cooking class, I want to recommend that will produce flavorful results. It can help beginners and experts. It’s guaranteed, if you follow and observe the class carefully, good results follow. Welcome to God’s Cooking Class 101.

Items needed: a cookbook, ingredients, utensils and an oven. Recognize the time and temperature.

Cookbook: God’s cookbook, the Holy Bible, contains recipes of the Word and teaches about God’s wisdom, will and His way.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV)

Ingredients: Gather the ingredients of praise and thanksgiving. Praise and thanksgiving are two of the most important forms of worship to God.

And to stand every morning to thank and praise the Lord, and likewise at even: 1 Chronicles 23:30 (KJV)

Don’t forget to have God’s promise on hand. Reading the Word, will reveal the plans He has for your life.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)

Utensil: Using the utensil of grace, mix all the ingredients together. Grace of God is the tool granted for us to perform all things.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9K (KJV)

Time: Patience is the time needed. God works in His time not ours. Patience is not just waiting, but going through trials and troubles with a peaceful heart.

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 1:4 (KJV)

The temperature: During the fiery furnace of frustrations, pray for peace. God’s peace will keep you cool, calm and collected. Peace is another free given, you must seek it.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27 (KJV)

Oven: Acknowledge, and know God loves us. God’s love will bake in your heart during troubled times. Once the realization is discovered about how much God loves, you will feel the warmth that He will never leave or forsake you as long as you seek Him with all your heart.

And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed. Deuteronomy 31:8 (KJV)

The finished product is the blessings of God.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:17King James Version (KJV)

Avenues of Awareness

For this section I am going to cover God’s Cookbook, the Holy Bible.

 Devil’s Drive

The devil works in deception. He will deceive, distort or distract from the God and His Word. If he can convince you:

  • The Bible is antiquated with ancient people and fossil fables.
  • The Bible is too complicated to read and too contradictory to understand.
  • To question God and His reasons.
  • To create in your minds an abundance of unanswered questions about God.
  • The devil does not exist.
  • God is the cause of all mayhem in the world.
  • To hold on to old philosophies and traditions of man
  • That You do not have time to read the Word

If you agree to any of the reasons above, the devil’s work is done.

World’s Way

Television has replaced the art of reading. Before television, reading was high on the list for things to do. People curled up in a chair, read a book and released their imagination. Television entertains, no need to use your imagination, the program will dictate what to imagine. An interesting fact, originally, the television was designed to emit information and educate people. Today, it continues to do this purpose, however, with far more additive programming. This is only one reason why the television has been referred to the idiot box.

Personal Pathway

I have always loved to read. However, I am not against television viewing. As I have mentioned in previous posts, there must be a balance. At this time, my day consists of studying the Bible, reading my daily Word, watching inspirational gospel programs and my afternoons are composing posts for your learning pleasure. I go to my workout classes in the evening, while driving, I listen to fiction Audiobooks. I love Audiobooks because I can drive and accomplish other duties all while the book is reading to me. So, in the evening, if I watch a TV program, I feel like there has been a balance.

Reflection Road

Have a balance in your life. Incorporate studying the Bible into your everyday routine. Think of it this way, if you wanted to get your driver’s license, you would study the Rules of the Road. If you want to receive the promises of God, study His Rules of the Road, His Word.

Lord’s Lane

And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. Deuteronomy 28:2King James Version (KJV
