HGTV: Renovate Your Mind Part 1

Renew the mindIt’s time to renovate. HGTV is a cable television channel that features all types of how-to shows. Some of the programs teach how to make an old rundown home into a new one by means of renovating. Most want the cost of an older dilapidated house, but desire to have the look of an expensive new home. The buyers work together with the contractors. They walk through the home and come to an agreement on what needs to go and what needs to stay. Demolition begins. Jack hammers knock down walls. Circular saws cut certain material. Power drills drive holes in certain places. At the end of the program, the house is completely renovated, looking and feeling anew with the fraction of the cost. The final result: the inexpensive home can be sold at market prices way above the purchase price. The old turned new, with a profit.

It’s time for you to renovate. Tune to the channel H.G.T.V and Hear God’s Tender Voice and renew (renovate) your mind. Don’t you want your old life to be renewed? Are you plagued with issues influencing your life? Bills? Children? Finances? Relationships? Jobs? School? Your future?

If you want to change your life, you must change the way you think. The things you think about influence your acts and behaviors. Your acts and behaviors—good or bad shape your future. It’s a chain reaction.

What is renewing the mind? It’s taking your thoughts and replacing them with God’s thoughts. It is the ability to stop, look and listen before reacting. Listen to God’s tender voice and tune out your emotions, feelings and the voice of the devil.

Using the house renovation, in the beginning, let’s apply it to your old way of thinking.

  • You have an older dilapidated house.*You have an old way of thinking.
  • The buyers work with the contractors. *You work with the Creator—God.
  • You and the contractor walk through the home and come to an agreement on what needs to go and what needs to stay. *With prayers to God, you come into agreement with your present way of thinking, what needs to go and what needs to stay.
  • Demolition begins. * An overhaul begins with casting down all negative thoughts, emotions, feelings, acts and behaviors and the devil’s voice.
  • Jack hammers knock down walls. *Our faith in God breaks down the strong holds of fear, the world and the devil. The ability to triumph.
  • Circular saws cut certain material. The Word of God is the Sword of power cutting through the negative emotions and the stresses of the world. The Word is power. It’s quick and sharp.
  • Power drills drive holes in necessary material. *Trusting in God will bore holes in the world’s logic and rationale. Trust is believing; no matter what t circumstances stand in front of us; God will be there.

Renovate your mind. Renew your life. It’s time.

This concludes H.G.T.V Renovate Part 1. This informative message will be broken down into 3 parts. Renewing the mind cannot be explained in one session. At the end of the 3-part message, you will have the knowledge to renew your mind. The final results will be a new way of thinking bringing prosperity to your body, soul and spirit. H.G.T.V, Hear God’s Tender Voice!

Avenues of Awareness

Reflection Road

Example: You wake up late. Instantly negativity rushes in your mind. You’re in a rush. On the road, you forget your cell phone. No way to call your employer. Ahead there is an accident. Traffic crawls. You’re frustrated. While waiting you turn on the news. Murders, burglaries, wars and fear shouts to you. You become agitated and anxious. You pass the collision, determined to make up time, your speedometer increases, you’re speeding. You’re stopped by the police and receive a ticket. Now you’re angry. You arrive at work, stressed. A co-worker says the simplest thing and you explode. Your supervisor overhears and reprimand you. You’re stressed and the day hasn’t started.

Renewed example #1: You wake up late. Stop! The devil already begins to tell you about all the bad things that can happen. Look at what the devils is saying. Stop the devil in his tracks. Have an intimate talk with God—pray. Ask God what do? Listen to His voice. He may tell you to immediately call your supervisor about your tardiness. He may remind you about your cell phone. He may direct you to take a different route to avoid the accident. (Keep in mind, God may have caused you to be late not to be in the accident) Feeling good about God’s presence, while driving, you listen to gospel music or a gospel talk show. Your heart is lifted. Because you took another route you arrive at work earlier than anticipated. You walk in the office giving your co-worker a compliment. Your supervisor showers you with accolade and informs you, with the news, you are on the fast track to a promotion.

Devil’s Drive

The devil does not want you to renew your mind. He wants to continue to speak negativity in your thoughts causing you to be fueled by hot emotions and driven by uncontrolled feelings. The devil wants to destroy your day, week, year and your life.

World’s Way

As you know, many of the world’s ways and society’s liberalities are orchestrated by the devil. The world wants you to renew your mind, but with its style, ideas, and manners and not God’s wisdom, will and ways. The world has brainwashed many with the concept; you don’t need anyone. The righteous knows they need God.

Personal Pathway

Way, way, back in the day, I loved to gossip. To receive juicy pieces of a scandal made my day. Being the person I was, whatever I heard, before passing it on to the next talebearer, I embellished. Every story needed more color. It was fun, until I made the headliners of the gossip column. Untrue stories about me soared. The tales had tidbits of the truth but was saturated with slanderous slop. I was humiliated. I didn’t ask God why this happened. I knew. God didn’t cause this to happen. I did. I realized my negative consequences resulted in negative results. A small voice spoke to me, Treat other people the way you want to be treated. I gave up being the gossip gab. I learned. I renewed my mind. I replaced my petty and damaging way of thinking and replaced it with empathy and consideration, for others.

Lord’s Lane

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2King James Version (KJV)
