Who Are You?

Who are youI don’t know who I am. You‘re a daughter, son, brother or sister. You’re a student. You’re a friend. You‘re many things to many people. But, do you truly know who you are?

This is an identity crisis among many tweens. The struggle is not being a child, but not quite a legal age adult. During these formative years you’re searching for an identity. Without realizing, you’re seeking a role mode. A person worth idealizing; who can be mimicked.

Many chooses the rich and fame: actors, athletics or musicians because of the things they have. Money, clothes, glamor and success tops the list. These idols look happy because they’re rich. But, you don’t know these people personally. You’re exposed only to what the media produces. Their job is to set up images to be romanticized. Behind the scenes, many of the glorified icons are unhappy, with high divorce rates, sicknesses, stresses and a bunch of messes.

Others look up to their parents who may be doctors, lawyers, teachers or nurses. Or, other mentors they desire to be like. They go down trails to be like them.

At your age, you may have hopes, dreams and aspirations that may not be the path you should travel. Through the grace of God I would like to introduce to you who you are and the road to find out where you should go.

If you are reading this, or have been referred to this post. God is already in your life or God is exposing Himself to you to be in His life. I am going to tell you who you are. You are a child of God. He is your Almighty Father. And because of that, You are the righteousness of God.

That is an everlasting identity you must realize and hold fast t. Confessing who you are in God, will propel you though life. This identity will assist you to fight off your adversaries. Because you can go to God and ask what is your destiny. He will instruct and guide you. But, you must accept this God given gift, righteousness.

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Corinthians 5:21

When you truly know who you are, no one can steal that from you. Confess your identity to yourself, out loud and declare it to others. This is you weapon to stop Satan from attempting to rob you of your identity. The confirmation will help you stay rooted in your individuality and know God is your Father. As a loving father, He will teach you though His Word; give instructions for your life, and provide you with the skills to complete any tasks ordained by Him.

Avenues of Aspirations

Reflection Road

Daily, declare who you are every day. Get up in the morning saying. I am the Righteousness in God. Throughout the day repeat your identity, until you believe it, until you have agreed with God that you accept His free gift.

Devil’s Drive

Not only daily, but multiple times throughout day, the devil will attempt to strip you of your status. If you are established in righteousness, he will succeed. Know who you are and fight Him with God’s Righteousness.

World’s Way

The world wants to keep you confused as who you are. So, it can dictate to you what it wants you to be. Always remember the devil is the prince of this world. His motto is to kill, steal and destroy. He hates you; the world hates you; because you believe in God.

If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. John 15:19King James Version (KJV)

Personal Pathway

I am not a perfectionist because I realize no one is perfect except the Son of God. But, I don’t like to make mistakes. At work, I made a mistake on a document. This document was sent to another establishment. The outside facility did not raise a ruckus, but a department at my company did. I was reprimanded mildly for this error. I felt bad. I did not want my company to reflect poorly to outsides agencies. After correcting my mistake and offering apologies the incident, everything should have been squashed. With my superiors, the matter was forgiven and forgotten. But, the devil reminded me of this slipup. He whispered all types of negative things in my head. How could you make such a mistake? Your company did not forgive you. They’re waiting for the right time to fire you. You do not have the capabilities to do your job. Why don’t you just quit. I must admit I listened for a while. I prayed about the matter. My Father spoke softly to me and asked. Who are you? I replied, I am the righteousness of God. Then act like it. I did. I confessed my status to Satan, I am the righteousness of God. Saying the words, energy and strength returned to me. Guess what? The unpleasant thoughts ceased.

Lord’s Lane

My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live. Job 27:6King James Version (KJV)

The Spiritual Bully

They torment your life. They call you names. They ridicule, insult or belittle Bullyfamily situations, personal characteristics or life situations. Oftentimes, they threaten to take possessions, favors or other unearned privileges. They are called bullies.

A bully is a person who is habitually cruel, persecutes and intimidates weaker people. And they thrive on the element of fear. They can be selfish, prideful, power-seeking and deceitful. Their behaviors include verbal put downs of others, backstabbing or physical attacks.

I want to bring to your attention the spiritual Bully. He is the devil. He operates the same way as a human bully, however you cannot visually see this bully. He is spiritual. He works in your thoughts, through people and situations.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12King James Version (KJV)

As a bully, the devil searches for weaker or unlearned people in the Word who he can consume, belittle, ridicule or intimate. The devil battles in the mind, whispering inimical thoughts, lies and confusion about you and your situation. He calls you names, weak, ugly, unpopular. He magnifies situations to make you feel bad about yourself. For example, if you have a pimple on your face. He will say you’re ugly and unattractive. And will go to imply that you’ll never get a boy or girlfriend. This may be exaggerated, but this is how he operates.

The devil wants to possess your way of thinking and your behaviors for you to react to everyday issues with fear. And wants you to be selfish, stressed and depressed. If you listen to him you may begin to believe him.

  • There are ways to go up against a bully. My first suggestion is to pray. Prayer is the first line of defense again the devil. A prayer is an intimate talk to your heavenly Father. Let Him know what’s going on. Ask for His wisdom.
  • The Word of God is the best weapon to defeat bullies. There are scriptures you can say to yourself and others you can say out loud. Many reading this will not believe that mere words can do anything. But these are not simple words, they are God’s Word producing power. You must believe the Word is your weapon—a powerful weapon. Say the scripture in the mirror. Say them throughout the day. Keep saying them over and over until you believe.
  • Trust God. Believe God. Even though it feels like He is not working. He is working. Have faith. The key is to listen. God will instruct you. He may tell you to do certain things. You must follow his instructions for success.

When it comes to the spiritual bully, the solution sounds simple, but it will take work. You must resist, fight against, and remain strong against the devil. How? Through prayer, the Word, trust, belief and faith.

Avenues of Aspiration

Reflection Road

  1. Can you think of a time, when the devil whispered something unpleasant in your mind about yourself, or magnified an incident out of proportion? Did you listen? Did feel bad about yourself?
  2. When bleak or depressing thoughts come to mind the spiritual bully is working. Stop and begin to confess the Word of God out loud to combat the fiery darts of the spiritual bully.
  3. Begin to think about what you are thinking. Is God speaking to you of grace and peace? Or the devil with stresses and messes?

Devil’s Drive

The devil is aggressive and persistent. He will use forceful methods to fight you. He knows your weaknesses, and will use them to the best of his abilities. If your weakness is your appearance, he will constantly he remind you of your flaws. As far as persistent, he will continue to speak negativity in your mind. He will not stop. The combat method is not to stop his negative thoughts, but to fight them with the Word of God. If he starts on one issue and you win that battle, he will come back in in another area. Remember this is war. It will get easier once you can identify it is him and use the weapons of choice. The weapons will always be the Word of God and prayer.

World’s Way

The devil has convinced a majority of the world he does not exist. He is some imaginary person or illusion existing only in horror movies, or an image for Halloween costumes. He has deceived the world in thinking all tragedies and catastrophes are caused by God. And our loving Heavenly Father is the blame for all problems. He enjoys this illusion, because he can sit behind the scenes whispering evil in your mind.

Personal Pathway

The Spiritual Bully attacks all of us. In the morning, I have noticed the first attack before I barely open my eyes. Finances, job issues and family matters begin to churn. The first thing I say is a prayer to God. Praising His Holy name and thanking Him for all of His blessing small and large initiates the intimate conversation. I thank Him for His free gifts of love, righteousness, grace, peace and joy. I ask Him to bless me so I can be a blessing to others. Guidance and instruction of my days follows. Lastly, I declare I am the righteousness of God. I call this my morning eye opening prayer. Other prayers follow all through the day.

The Greatest Lover: For the Men

Are you looking for the love of your life? Someone who will make you feel like a Lover king: to honor, understand, save and preserve you? And, you will choose her above all others? Who is this lover? Where can this lover be found?

Your Almighty Father describes this perfect lover. He chose this lover for you as your guide in life, to lead, keep and talk to you. This lover will keep your from wrong counsel and will guide your life through problems, issues and trials, if you allow her.

God instructs you to love her and reap the benefits. The lover is God’s wisdom. What is wisdom? Wisdom comes from God. A supernatural gift that coming out of the Lord’s mouth. God refers to wisdom as a woman.

  • Wisdom will guard and protect you.
  • If you believe, exalt and enhance her. She will glorify, magnify, guide and promote you in all areas of your life.
  • Wisdom is grace and a majestic diadem of honor will be given to you, like a king.
  • She teaches you discretion, the ability to recognize right and wrong. She will guide your words in awareness and learning. And last but not least, wisdom protects you from the wrong type of women. The beautiful women that speaks sexy words to entice, mesmerize and trick you in to a relationship that is not good for you. Wisdom will let you know to avoid this woman.

That you may exercise proper discrimination and discretion and your lips may guard and keep knowledge and the wise answer [to temptation]. For the lips of a loose woman drip honey as a honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil; Proverbs 5:2-3Amplified Bible (AMP)

I know this may be a lot to believe and comprehend. However, don’t discount this as some religious rant or biblical bunk. Don’t be a fool and disclaim God’s wisdom.

To access this supernatural power you must:

  1. To show reverence (honor and respect) to God. That is the beginning. When you appraise the Almighty Father with the love and admiration of knowing and recognizing who He is; what He has done and what He will do; and understanding that He should be treated with the most highest regard that is the beginning of wisdom.
  2. Ask. If you don’t have wisdom, ask our Almighty Father God for it.

Get wisdom, the love of your life. Embrace and her and begin to experience the supernatural abilities of God.

  • Think of a superhero movie. Don’t you marvel at the supernatural abilities they have. Do you secretly desire these or some type of supernatural power? Do you know the closer you get to God the more wisdom is obtained; you will increase with an unexplainable power. Please realize wisdom is power. Not a magical power, but a God given power.
  • You may not have given credit to God’s wisdom, but have you ever knew the answer or solution to something but you don’t know how you know?
  • Begin to experience wisdom as “knowing the know”, but don’t know, how you know the know.

Devil’s Drive

The devil wants you to think magic, fortune tellers, and Ouija boards are types of wisdom. And these channels are the way to see and know the future or get an insight on your life. Clairvoyants will conduct séances to arouse so called dead spirits to answer questions and assist you in future events. The devil has deceived many in thinking that seeking the wisdom from the dead is better than seeking wisdom from our living God.

World’s Way

Two of the most influential professions are physicians and scientists. These two professionals are blessed with wisdom and knowledge. However, many members of these occupations do not believe in God’s wisdom. Physicians rely on medication to get wisdom and results. And many doctors have the God Complex (thinking they are God). Scientists must have a reasonable and logical explanation for everything. And all theories must be proven.

People forget: God gave them the grace, talent and wisdom to achieve all of their achievements, regardless if they acknowledge it or not.

Personal Pathway

With the grace of god, I have allowed wisdom to guide my life for a number of years. But this is a story back in the day. I was attempting to buy a car from a private owner. We verbally discussed details about the purchase price and other matters, over the phone. The day, I went to purchase the car, I had this “feeling in my heart”. It was a nervously, jittery feeling. When I arrived at the owner’s home. He began quoting prices and other details not previously discussed. That “feeling in my heart” was working overtime. I thought I was having heart palpitations. I knew something was wrong. Wisdom began to speak for me. It quoted the exact price we discussed. The car owner denied everything. I didn’t buy the car. The “feeling in my heart” went away. Weeks later, I saw the car broken down on the highway. Wisdom saved me from buying a lemon. Moral of the story, wisdom will protect and talk for you if you allow it.

Diamonds Are Not A Girl’s Best Friend: For the Women

diamond

It’s been all about you, mainly your jewelry. Gold is around your neck, diamonds on your fingers, rubies in your ears, silver around your wrists. You’re fashionable with your jewelry. Your gems define and give self-worth. They are dependable, reliable and valuable. In your heart, if bad times occur your pieces of wealth will sustain you.

What you need is a special gem that produces wealth, substance, and prosperity. Something that will be with you during trials and never lose value. What is this special gem? Reading horoscopes is a way the devil has brainwashed the unlearned souls. With this type of wisdom, some people cannot start their day until they have read their horoscope. I’ve seen some of these horoscopes. They are so vague it can apply to anyone and any situation. When it comes to Zodiac signs some people will not mingle with people of other Zodiac signs because the stars warns them that they are not compatible. Others take this practice to the extremes and go to astrologers to get monthly or yearly readings from their moon, sun and starts. Don’t be deceived by the devil’s practices.

World’s Way

False teachers and prophets are masquerading as clergyman of God. They’re teaching their wisdom and doctrines of man, not God. They make you feel elated with their speeches. They speak their own philosophy. Many of their sermons don’t include the Word of God. These deceitful evangelists have swindled many people to donate money, land or any other possession. These frauds are out to fulfill their selfish mission. Know the Word and God’s wisdom. Don’t be deceived by them. That’s the world’s evil way of using God’s wisdom for a profit.

Personal Pathway

I met a gentleman. He was handsome enough and was attending college to get his master’s degree (that’s what he told me). He asked me out. For some reason, I avoided the initiation. It’s was something just not quite right. After more of his attempts, I relented and accepted his offer. We met at a local restaurant. All types of bells and whistles went off. Don’t do it! I knew it was wisdom, but I avoided all the signs. We agreed on a second date, in spite of wisdom crying out, don’t do it. I got dressed and waited, waited and waited. He stood me up. Hours later he called with a very weak excuse. I forgave him, however no other dates were made. Every time I saw him, wisdom cried out. And for the record, he was not getting his master’s degree, it was a lie. How many more lies did he have to tell?

For me, this was a mild case of avoiding wisdom, (other may refer to the signs). How many women avoided the call of wisdom, allowing emotions, loneliness or hormones to drive them; and got involved with the wrong man resulting in a bad relationship, causing hurt and sorrow? Listen to wisdom.

Who Are You Listening To? Renovate Your Mind Part 2

The renovation continues. In HGTV: Renovate Part 1, the time to tune to the Voices in your head (2)channel H.G.T.V and Hear God’s Tender Voice and renew (renovate) your mind is now.

Renewing the mind is taking your thoughts and replacing them with God’s thoughts. It’s the ability to stop, look and listen before reacting. Hear God’s tender voice and tune out your emotions, feelings and the voice of the devil.

Now, let’s review the voices in your head. I am not referring to mental disorders where different voices arise from multiple personalities or voices convincing you are the reincarnated Jason and you must kill all teenagers camping in the woods.

As you may already know, there are many voices speaking to you. One of your voices may be a parent, guardian or friend speaking good advice; reminding and instructing you to perform positive things in life. Or, derogatory words from unlearned, abusive, manipulating people resulting in humiliation, shame and guilt.

The two main categories are God and the devil. You will recognize all the other speeches, words or remarks will fall generally under these two main sources.

To attempt to keep this simple, if the words or statements in your thoughts are positive, uplifting, peaceful, graceful, and motivating or anything that aligns with an essence of goodness, that’s God’s voice or one of His representatives passing His Word to you.

Words of evil, conniving, pride, selfishness, shame, guilt, confusion or anything with a sense of wrongness, that’s the devil’s voice whispering negativity into your thoughts.

The different tone of the voices:

  • God’s voice is calm, gentle and quick. It’s also quiet and fast. If you are not tuned in to hear Him. you’ll miss it.

And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire [a sound of gentle stillness and] a still, small voice1 Kings 19:12Amplified Bible (AMP)

  • The devil’s voice is loud, going into detail related to wrong and evil. The devil knows the Word of God is calm and quick. The devil comes right behind God’s Word and instruction and steals it. Cunningly, he will convince you to do the opposite of whatever God told you to do.

Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved, Luke 8:12King James Version (KJV)

  • How can I know the difference between the two voices?

In biblical references, we are the sheep. The Lord God is our Shepherd. The sheep will follow the Shepard’s voice.

And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. John 10:4King James Version (KJV)

Studying God’s Word is the only way to sharpen your sense of hearing to recognize and follow His voice. You must pray and meditate on His Word. If you think there is a short cut, there is not.

In HGTV: Renovate Part 3, feelings and emotions are evaluated.

You landed this great job. Your paychecks are more than you could imagine. The “tender voice” instructs you not to make any major purchases. There is not a loud voice, but loud temptations. Major department stores are having blowout sales. The “tender voice” says, wait. You buy a new wardrobe. A flyer in the mail informs you are pre-approved for a new car. The tender voice says, not now. Never mind your current car is paid for and in good condition. You go to the car dealership to look. Three hours later, you’re driving home with a state-of-the-art luxury car. The loud voice in your head, you deserve it. While driving your new car, wearing a new outfit, you spot the house of your dreams, for sale. The “tender voice”, this is not the time. A month later you are moving in. The loud voice say, it’s okay, people need to recognize your status in life. Things are great for six months. A recession hits. You lose your job. No other jobs are available. Now, you have clothes you can’t wear to work, a car you didn’t need and a house you can’t afford. The loud voice will tell you, if you were a child of God, He would have warned you. You agree and become mad with God, because you lost your job. Really? Who is to blame? Many after hearing warnings will ignore them and when tragedy hits will blame any or everyone. Don’t be that person.

Devil’s Drive

The devil know God’s Word and he knows you. Sometimes he will disguise his voice and make it tender and gentle, however if whatever the instruction given if it does not match with God’s love or Word, it is not God. Study the Word and know the difference.

World’s Way

The world does not tell, suggest or encourage you not to read. However, it offers flashy, self-satisfying and self-indulging temptations that influences and overwhelms you, not to read. The world will not broadcast not to read, because that would put bookstores and authors out of business. With electronic devices to include tablets, Smart phones, 3d televisions with surround sounds, who has time to read. Who wants to read when you can sit down and be entertained without thinking, turning a page or making notes? Reading has become a lost art for many, especially the youth. If the passage is longer than 144 characters (the length of a Tweet), many of our young people will not indulge. If they do take time to read, sometimes it is some trashy rag describing the lives of the rich and famous.

It’s not wrong have electronic devices. I’m not saying decompression or down time is wrong. Everyone needs relaxation and playtime in their lives. Everything in life there must be a balance. Balance your day to spend time with God, study His word and renew your mind. The devil’s biggest attraction is distraction. Don’t be too distracted.

Personal Pathway

I followed God’s tender voice and didn’t realize I was following it. Years ago, I resigned from a job. On my exit-out meeting, human resources highly encouraged me to keep my 401K or roll it over, if necessary. I listened with interest. Days later, all types of Investment Plan literature filled my mailbox, offering discounts and low rates, if I signed up with them. Again, I read with interest. To be truly honest, I did not feel right about keeping my 401K. Against all of the advice and literature, I cashed in my 401K. The money supported me during my unemployment. The economy took a nose dive. The recession hit. Many people lost jobs and portions or all of their investments. God protected me before I knew I needed protection. He allowed me to reap the benefits of my 401k. My funds were not lost or taken away.
